Junior Baboons - January 2012

In early December, Bloomie escaped from her camp because one of the senior baboons jumped over to the junior baboon camp! 

We woke up at 5:30 in the morning hearing a lot of noise coming from the baboon camp. When we checked, Bloomie was outside, completely terrified! It seems like one of the seniors jumped over, because he got scared as well by a wild baboon that got too close to the senior camp. 

The senior baboon eventually jumped back into his own camp, but when we found Bloomie she was sitting on the fence outside of the staff accommodation area, screaming and crying. She then ran into one of the staff rooms, and funnily picked up a pack of 2-minute noodles which belonged to Elzette. She took it and jumped onto the rabbit pen, where she opened up the pack and proceeded to eat the noodles...

As much as we tried, she would not let go and she would not go back into her camp. She just did not want to listen to us. 

Luckily Balon came around and with his help we were able to get her back into her camp where she joined her friends Bakkies, Troy and the rest of the bunch.
