Baby Baboons April 2012
Things have really shaken up in the baby
baboon camp with the arrival of Bobby!
Bobby came to us on February 12th
after being very well taken care
of by a local family. The family found the baby lying on the ground clinging to his mother who had been shot dead and took him into their care. After a few weeks, they quickly realized that keeping a baboon as a
pet was not a good idea. They had little children and they knew the baboon would soon get out of control. It was a wrench for them to let Bobby go, but they know he is in safe and loving hands here at N/a'an ku se.

Vervet Monkey April 2012
Welcome to Scarlett's first blog report!
At the start of December 2011 we received a call from the SPCA in Windhoek (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). They had been notified of a monkey making a lot of noise, clearly in distress, from someone's back garden. The SPCA called Rudie and Marlice and asked for their assistance in rescuing the animal.

Senior Baboons - January 2012
In November it was finally the seniors' turn to receive a renovated camp! They were already getting very jealous when they saw that both the babies and juniors had received a revamp of their homes back earlier in October...
Junior Baboons - January 2012
In early December, Bloomie escaped from her camp because one of the senior baboons jumped over to the junior baboon camp!

Baby baboons - January 2012
In November, poor little Rafiki cut his finger open quite badly on the baby baboon cage, resulting in a little piece of flesh hanging off his hand. Because of the place where the cut was, it would have been impossible to just bandage it (plus he would have probably just ripped it off again), so we decided to sedate him so Rudie could take a closer look.
